Zurich’s New Global Rating Engine Goes Live on Solveva’s Actus Platform
Zurich, a global market leader in commercial insurance, has selected Actus by Solveva to renew its pricing platform. Just months after contract signing, the implementation has reached its first milestone: the new Global Rating Engine went live on 1 May 2026, with rollout across lines of business and regions to follow in the coming months.
The engine lets Zurich’s underwriters and actuaries run pricing faster, adjust models with far less effort, and keep full governance and auditability over data and algorithms, securing Zurich’s technology leadership for the decade ahead.
Zurich selected Solveva for the Actus platform's technical strengths: performance, modularity, and maintainability, along with its bespoke-like configurability and use-your-own-cloud approach, and the business and engineering expertise of the Solveva team.
The wider toolset around the core engine is built on Actus as well. Scenario analysis, master data management, and calculation administration are already in place, with further capabilities to follow.
Penny Seach, Commercial Insurance International CUO and Jan Ellerbrock, CTO Commercial Insurance jointly said:
We are pleased to be partnering with Solveva to re-platform our global pricing enginess. The modularity and agility provided by Actus gives us great flexibility in how we deploy and maintain pricing engines across our large commercial and middle-market businesses.
Rouven Oberholzer, CEO and Founder of Solveva, said:
Delivering a global rating engine of this scope alongside Zurich is milestone we are proud of. It demonstrates what Actus is designed to do: give re/insurers a flexible, future-proof foundation for their core pricing and underwriting.
